Born in Sansepolcro, where Tuscany borders with Umbria, at the age of fifteen I was introduced to the darkroom and to the mystery of black and white which to this day still fascinates me, like some kind of magic that grips the soul.

In 1989 I moved to Florence to study Biology even though to become a photojournalist was my biggest dream. There is where so I made photography my life and become professional photographer.

In 1992 my first reportage about former Yugoslavia was made and in 1995 I took my first wedding. In 1996 I went to Milan to expand my knowledge in advertising photography.

I broaden my skills across reportage, social photography, commercial and advertisement photography. Studio, still-life and portraiture photography made my daily earnings. During those times my portfolios of life-stories began to appear on magazines and newspapers. I quitted with photo studio and view camera for photojournalism, to travel and tell stories with my Nikons.

My first personal exhibition “Albanians from Albania” was held in 1997 in Sansepolcro. My photos of the war in Kosovo became a touring exhibition from 1998 to 1999 which reached all the most important Italian and German towns. That portfolio was chosen for a permanent exhibition at the Friedensmuseum of Nuernberg, Germany.

Following a stop with war photography, I began teaching photography in Florence. Few years later I opened my own school of photography TheDarkroom.

I keep doing photojournalism and in the last years I have completed several features among which The Nomadic of the wind, which took me back to be committed with Biology and the nature, The Bektashi Feast, with which I was back in the Balkans, The LBT Project in Arcetri, Florence, and many others.
